Mr Paul Li was appointed as head of Macau branch in November 2022. Paul has over 25 years of experience in underwriting, SMEs and distribution and has held a variety of senior underwriting and management positions at international insurers in the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau. QBE Macau operation started in 1985 with extensive working relationship and network with major intermediaries. Paul reports to Lei Yu CEO North Asia and Regional Head of Distribution APO. Prior to joining QBE, Paul worked as head of technical risks at major insurer in Macau and SME specialty at international insurer in Hong Kong. He worked at QBE Hong Kong from 2014 to 2016 as head of bancasurance and previously worked at international insurer as head of commercial.


Dr Kai-Uwe Schanz was appointed Deputy Managing Director and Head of Research and Foresight of The Geneva Association in 2019. The Geneva Association is the only global association of re/insurance companies, comprising about 80 CEO members representing leading global companies. It is currently chaired by Lee Yuan Siong, CEO of AIA Group.

In this capacity, Dr Schanz also serves as the Executive Director of the Global Reinsurance Forum (GRF), an advocacy group of 13 reinsurance CEOs representing two-thirds of the global reinsurance market. The GRF is currently chaired by John Neal, CEO of Lloyd’s.

Before joining The Geneva Association, Dr Schanz co-ran a reinsurance-focused strategy, business development, and communications consultancy, which he co-founded in 2007. During those years, he served as an external advisor to The Geneva Association and numerous re/insurers and government units worldwide, primarily in emerging markets. From 2016 to 2018, he was a non-executive member of the board of directors of Trust International Insurance and Reinsurance Company in Bahrain.

Dr Schanz began his career in re/insurance in 1995 as a Senior Economist at Swiss Re. He then moved to Hong Kong as the company’s first Chief Economist for the Asia-Pacific region before returning to Zurich as Managing Director of Global Communications Content. In 2004, he joined Converium (which was later acquired by SCOR) as Head of Corporate Development and Communications.

Dr Schanz holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Konstanz (Germany) and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). In 2003, he received a lifetime appointment as a research fellow at Peking University.


Mr Clarence Wong is the Chief Economist of Peak Re. Mr Wong is responsible for delivering strategic insights on economic, insurance and emerging risks to the company and its key stakeholders. He also oversees the development of thought-leadership content for Peak Re.

Mr Wong is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the finance industry and an extensive research track record.

Before joining Peak Re, Mr Wong worked at Swiss Re since 1999, where he last served as the Chief Economist, Asia. He led a team of researchers to provide Swiss Re and other stakeholders with economic and insurance insights, as well as research on emerging risk landscape in Asia. At the same time, his team contributed to Swiss Re’s sigma, the regular insurance industry report that is considered a “must-read” for anyone interested in the sector.

Prior to that, Mr Wong spent nine years at HSBC’s economic research department, worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in its management consulting arm, and in the R&D department of Hutchison Trading Ltd.

Mr Wong has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong.


Ms Winnie Wong is the CEO & Executive Director of Asia Insurance Company Limited (a leading composite insurance company in Hong Kong) and Avo Insurance Company Limited (the first virtual general insurer in Hong Kong with a mission to create a simple and straight forward digital insurance experience that integrates seamlessly into everyday life). Prior to Asia Insurance, she was the CEO of Aon Risk Solutions Hong Kong/ Macau and Assistant General Manager of Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance. She has over 27 years’ experience in Insurance and Risk Management Consulting.

She is a recognized industry expert, regularly speaking at numerous industry conferences and is very active in the financial services industry and community.


Mr Liu Yuejin is the President of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited, responsible for daily operations. Mr Liu has extensive managerial experience in the insurance industry.

Prior to joining China Life (Overseas), Mr Liu was the Assistant to the President of China Life Insurance Company Limited, and successively served as General Manager of the Guizhou Branch, Chongqing Branch and Guangdong Branch of China Life Insurance Company Limited.

Mr Liu graduated from Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, majoring in Planning and Statistics with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.


Mr Lawrence Lam joined Prudential Hong Kong as CEO in July 2022. He will lead the Hong Kong’s executive management team to drive growth and development and oversee operations of Prudential’s life and general insurance business in Hong Kong, covering a full suite of protection, health, wealth and investment insurance solutions as well as a comprehensive collection of general-purpose insurance products.

Prior to joining Prudential, Lawrence was the Chief Executive of Citi’s consumer bank in Hong Kong. He brings with him a wealth of experience in managing multi-channel distribution and servicing network, developing customer-centric digital ecosystem, and creating client value through segmentation and product innovation. Lawrence has held senior leadership positions at Citi, including Head of Retail Banking, Head of Sales and Distribution, and Director of Consumer Lending, and has played a critical role in building the bank’s insurance business through bancassurance partnership.

Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree from the Ivey Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM).


Mr Franz-Josef Hahn is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Peak Re. With more than 30 years of reinsurance industry experience, Mr Hahn has successfully helped to build and shape the reinsurance business in Greater China and across Asia Pacific regions. He has held senior management positions in several leading reinsurance companies and has acquired extensive strategic business advisory experience across the globe.

Mr Hahn is a member of the Geneva Association. He is a member of the International Insurance Society (“IIS”) Executive Council. Mr Hahn is also an active contributor in the Hong Kong financial and insurance industry. He is a member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance. He was the Honorary Secretary of the Insurance complaints Bureau from 2019 to 2021 and a member of the Insurance Complaints Bureau. Mr Hahn belonged to the Insurance Advisory Committee to the Financial Secretary from 2002 to 2008, the convenor of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Reinsurance Forum from 2000 to 2002 and a member of the Independent Insurance Authority’s Industry Advisory Committees from 2016 to 2018. Mr. Hahn is a qualified lawyer.


Ms Eleanor Hartmann is a senior operational leader in the insurance industry with over 20 years of experience delivering significant shareholder value by defining corporate strategy, driving transformation, and embedding a culture of operational excellence. She joined Guy Carpenter in Hong Kong in July 2023 to lead the definition, prioritisation and operationalisation of complex strategic problems across the Asia Pacific region and is also responsible for sales and marketing across the region.

Immediately prior to this she was in a board-appointed Digital Transformation and Global ESG role for Resolution Life in London which she joined in 2019 following its >$3BN acquisition of AMP Life. Eleanor was instrumental in Resolution Life’s growth from fewer than 20 employees to 2,500 people across the globe with $70+BN in AUM. She previously held senior business management positions for AMP in Sydney, encompassing strategy, planning, risk, regulation, product innovation, and multi-award-winning people and culture programmes.

Ms Hartmann holds undergraduate degrees in commerce, psychology and philosophy, and a Master's in Business Law.



Ms Lillian Lai has worked in the risk management and General insurance industry for approximately 35 years, and she is a certified risk manager and management consultant. She has worked in Sydney, Hong Kong, and Taipei, and served as Regional Director, Chief Commercial Officer, CEO and Chairman of an international brokerage firm. Her background was mainly for contract works, P&C underwriting, Marine Cargo Underwriting and Fac. Reinsurance. She provided risk consulting services to corporate clients, especially for crime risks, such as Cyber and Fraud risks, Kidnap & Ramson, Extortion risks, etc. She started her General Insurance career since 1988 and in addition to insurance companies, brokerage, risk consulting business, she has also invested in new start-up companies and entered the fields of asset management, and financial consulting. Lillian used to serve as an independent director to a listed high-technology company in Taipei and she is now working for Tokio Marine Newa Insurance Company, one of the Tokio Marine Group overseas subsidiaries, in Taipei starting from 2023.


As the CEO of the largest life insurer (in terms of the customer base), Mr Sythan Prou has a unique blend of distribution, legal, compliance and industry leadership. With his omni-distribution strategy (Partnership, Agency, Direct sales and Brokerage), Forte Life is able to protect 10% of Cambodia’s adult population. Forte Life is also a market leader in serving comprehensive employee benefits to about 10% of the private sector’s workforce.

Sythan is among few senior leaders who pioneered life insurance in 2012. He was Manulife’s Chief Legal & Compliance Officer and Chief Partnership Distribution Officer managing 5 bancassurance partners. He is a familiar face in the financial services community in representing and promoting industry growth, market education and consumer protection. He holds Executive Master of Laws from King’s College London and Master of International and Business Law from Yokohama National University. He was granted the Young Leader of the Year award from Asia Insurance Review, 40 Under 40 from Asian Legal Business and a Royal Order of the Kingdom from the King of Cambodia.


Mr Ronak Shah, with over 20 years in the insurance and reinsurance sector, is the CEO of QBE Singapore and has been with the company since 2017. His prior roles include leading the Financial, Professional, and Casualty Lines business across Asia, Pacific Islands, and Latin America.

A veteran in both underwriting and broking, he has worked in the US and Singapore for top international insurance and broking firms, specializing in all classes of Financial, Professional, and Liability lines, along with Transactional Liability solutions.

An advocate for knowledge sharing, Ronak is an active contributor to trade magazines, a frequent speaker at seminars, and a trainer for various regional organizations. He currently presides over the General Insurance Association of Singapore and serves on the executive bodies of the IBF, EAIC, AIC, FSTC, and is on the Board of Governors at the Singapore College of Insurance. He is also the Past Chairman of PLUS in Singapore.

Mr Shah holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester, USA.


Andrea Keenan directs AM Best Rating Services’ strategy globally, and is responsible for the commercial, public relations, business development, industry research and corporate events teams.

Andrea started at AM Best in 2000 as AM Best’s first country risk analyst, overseeing the launch of AM Best’s country risk methodology. She served multiple roles at AM Best, including building and managing economic and industry research and analytical training. From 2013-2015, Andrea served as managing director of AM Best América Latina, based in Mexico City, where she initiated and expanded AM Best’s first Latin American presence.

Prior to joining AM Best, Andrea was the U.S. economist at Toyota Motor North America in New York City, and analyst at International Technology and Trade Associates in Washington, D.C.

Andrea served on the Board of Directors of the Microinsurance Network as Vice Chair until 2023 and is a member of the Inclusive Insurance Working group of the Insurance Development Forum (IDF). She was also adjunct professor of economics at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Andrea holds a master’s degree from Temple University in economics, a master’s degree from American University in international affairs and a bachelor's degree from York College in international studies.


Mr Lars Lange is a qualified maritime lawyer by training and graduated from Göttingen University in 1995. Mr Lange started his professional career as a maritime lawyer with the law firm Blaum Dettmers Rabstein in Bremen. From 1999 onwards he dedicated his professional life to marine insurance: first as head of the marine insurance department, underwriting and claims, with C. Wm. König GmbH & Co. KG based in Bremen. In October 2008 Mr Lange took over the position as head of the marine and aviation insurance department at the German Insurance Association (GDV) in Berlin.

In January 2013 he moved to his present position when he took over the office as Secretary General of the International Union of Marine Insurance e.V. (IUMI) where he takes – beyond others - care on IUMI’s IMO and EU activities and fosters the relations to other maritime stakeholders such as ship-owner associations, class, salvors, average adjusters, shipper and forwarders. In his capacity, Mr Lange holds a number of honorary posts in the maritime environment, for example as the Chair of the International Quality Assessment Review Body IQARB under the auspices of the IMO, as a member of the Advisory Committee to the IACS QSCS or as Technical Expert to the BIMCO Safety and Security Committee.


Mr Michael F. Rellosa is the Executive Director of the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA), serving initially as a member of the Board of Trustees for an uninterrupted period of 20 years. He then served as its chairman in 2008 to 2010 and 2014 to 2016 until his appointment to his present position in 2018. He concurrently chairs the association’s Public Relations Committee, TWG on Agricultural Insurance, Ad-Hoc Committee on ASEAN Economic Integration, and its designated Industry spokesperson. Prior to assuming his post in PIRA fulltime, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Fortune General Insurance Corporation for 15 years.

Mr Rellosa, as he is fondly called by friends and colleagues, has been very active in serving the Insurance Industry through his involvement with various entities in various capacities.

Following his regional stint as Chairman of the ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC), a regional aggrupation of the ASEAN’s Life and Non-Life Associations from 2015 to 2016, he also chaired the Education Committee of the ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC) for 8 years until December 2023. Mr Rellosa is a regular lecturer at the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific and was elected to its Board for the years 2021-2023, and is now on his second term which will end on 30 April 2026.

Mitch was recently elected as President of EAIC, East Asian Insurance Congress, for the years 2022-2024. He was elected as a Member of the Board of ARISE Philippines (The Private Sector Alliance on Disaster Resilient Societies) in September 2023 and currently sits as its Committee Chair and Priority Area Lead on Re/Insurance, one of its 4 key priority areas.

He writes a monthly Opinion Column for the Manila Times on topics related to Insurance, Risk Management, and other topics close to his heart.


Dr Somporn Suebthawilkul is a prominent figure in the non-life insurance industry in Thailand. He is the Managing Director of Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited, one of the country’s leading general insurance companies; and the Chief Executive Officer of Dhipaya Group Holdings Public Company Limited, the country’s first insurance holding company. Dr Somporn has been entrusted with significant roles in the insurance landscape. Among these are the Deputy Chairman of Dhipaya Life Assurance Public Company Limited, and a director of Thai Reinsurance Public Company Limited, to name but two.

Following his leading role in the insurance industry, Dr Somporn is the President of the Thai General Insurance Association. He has also been appointed by the Cabinet, as an expert committee member of the Thai Arbitration Institute Committee, the Office of the Judiciary, as proposed by the Justice Minister.

Dr Somporn’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Public Administration, from Ramkhamhaeng University; a Master’s Degree in Political Science, from Thammasat University; a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Sripatum University; Maritime Studies, Navigation & Deck Officer, School of Maritime Studies, Plymouth, England. In terms of business and professional development, Dr Somporn completed numerous training programs and seminars such as Director Certification Program, Thai Institute of Directors Association, Certificate Program, Thailand Insurance Super Leadership Program (Class 2), Advance Insurance Institute of the Office of Insurance Commission, etc.


With engineering background and national license to practice, Mr Jason Tsai enters the workforce as a consultant in multinational engineering consulting firm for 7+ years before changing career.

After obtaining national license as Fire Engineer, Mr Tsai joined in the general insurance company in 1988, focusing on risk inspection and loss control as a start, and then he experienced underwriting and reinsurance practices, and took the managerial role as the head of strategic planning and underwriting manager successively.

Intend to participate in the M&A activities between local and foreign insurance companies, he joined in AIU Taiwan in 2006, promoted to AIU Southeast Asia Region as Property Deputy, supporting countries and territories business operation, and then relocated back to AIU Taiwan operation as CEO in 2009.

Left AIG at the end of 2013, and after a short service in reinsurance brokering business, Mr Tsai joined in Nan Shan Life to facilitate the acquisition of AIU Taiwan’s SME and Consumer business to found the Nan Shan General, a wholly own subsidiary of Nan Shan Life, in 2016. He took the role as CEO when Nan Shan General is founded, and then Chairperson of the Board as today.


Mr Yu Xiaodong is the CEO of Taiping Reinsurance Co., Ltd. He also serves as the General Manager of Business Management Dept. of China Taiping Insurance Group Ltd. and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Taiping Reinsurance (China) Co., Ltd.

Prior to that, he held senior management roles in China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co., Ltd., Fosun International Limited, China Taiping Insurance Group Headquarters, etc. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Mr Yu graduated from Fudan University with an MSc Degree in Applied Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a founding member and Fellow of China Association of Actuaries (FCAA), a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (FASHK), a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).


Carrying with her over 25years of experience in life and medical insurance operations, Ms Candy Au Yeung leads the company’s customer operations and health journey endeavour in Hong Kong. On the operations side, she is responsible for delivering customer excellence and transformation across various operational functions, including underwriting, health assessment, claims and policy service, customer contact center and service center.

On the health side, Candy plays a leading role in developing Prudential’s Health strategy and enhancing operations, including value creation for the end-to-end customer health journey, health ecosystem development and partnership, diversified health products and value added service development, as well as medical network expansion.

Candy first joined Prudential in 2013and worked with the company for eight years in various senior operations roles. She re-joined Prudential in 2023 after serving as the Chief Operations Officer at Manulife Hong Kong. Candy has also worked in different insurers in Hong Kong, including AIA HK, Bupa HK, MetLife HK and Zurich Insurance in a variety of roles, giving her considerable experience in the insurance sector.



Mr Daniel Chua Go is the Executive Board Member/Secretary and Treasurer of the East Asian Insurance Congress (EAIC).

Mr Go has over 40 years of extensive experience in the field of Non- Life Insurance business. He joined MAAGAP Insurance, Inc. formerly known as MAA General Assurance Phils., Inc. (MAAGAP), in August 2001, which is a subsidiary of MAA Group Berhad (“MAAG”), a Malaysian investment holding company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. He is the Executive Director of the Board upon its actual operation on September 1, 2001, and has since maintained his post for 20 years as President and CEO of MAAGAP until his retirement in June 2023.

Mr Go earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce Major in Management from the University of the East in 1984. Prior to his graduation, he was working full-time in the Motor Car Claims Department with Prudential Guarantee & Assurance, Inc. in 1982, while taking evening classes to complete his college degree. This early work experience has honed his diverse knowledge and expertise in the technical field of the non-life insurance business.

Mr Go spent 19 years at Prudential Guarantee and rose through the ranks to become Claims Supervisor (All Lines), Claims Manager (All Lines), and Assistant Vice President – Claims.

Mr Go presently serves as Senior Adviser/Director of MAAGAP Insurance, Inc., and Member of the Advocacy Committee of the Philippine Insurers Reinsurance Association, Inc. (PIRA). He is also a member of the Philippine Insurer’s Club; Insurance Institute of Asia and the Pacific; and the Rotary Club of Manila.


Mr Michael Shin is CEO, RGA Korea SVP, Japan and Chief Marketing Officer, Asia with executive oversight responsibility for all of RGA’s business activities in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. He is also Chief Marketing Officer for RGA Asia, with responsibility for all marketing activities in RGA’s Asia Pacific region.

His insurance industry experience spans over 35 years. Prior to joining RGA in 2012, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Distribution Officer of New York Life Korea, where his duties included being Head of Agency Distribution, Marketing, Product Design and Corporate Communication. He was also with Samsung Life Insurance South Korea, where he was Senior Vice President and Chief of Advisors and Financial Planning Center. Earlier, he spent more than 15 years with Prudential Financial Insurance, where he was Managing Director for the Asia market.

Michael received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in economics and international business from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has also been a member of the LIMRA Korea Executive Board since 2007.


Mr Oran Vongsuraphichet commenced his illustrious career in the insurance sector in 1991, transitioning to reinsurance in October 2012. He joined Thai Reinsurance as Director, COO, and President, ascending to the role of CEO in 2016. His leadership extends to the BlueVenture Group, where he serves as a director, and to Thai Re Life, where he also holds a directorial position. His expertise encompasses primary insurance, reinsurance, and subsidiary services, including outsource claim processing, technology, and actuarial functions.

In addition to his executive roles, Mr Oran serves as the Secretary General of the Thai General Insurance Association (TGIA). He holds a Ph.D. in International Business from the Asian Institute of Technology and has completed prestigious training programs, including the Director Certification Program by the Thai Institute of Directors Association and leadership courses at the Capital Market Academy and the OIC Advanced Insurance Institute.

Mr Oran's extensive experience is further highlighted by his significant positions within the industry. He serves as Director of the Investment Committee and Chairman of the Enterprise Risk Management and Sustainability Committee at Thai Reinsurance. Additionally, he is the Vice Chairman of the BlueVenture Group. His profound influence and expertise are widely recognized across the insurance and reinsurance sectors, underscoring his commitment to excellence and leadership in the industry.


Mr Christopher Hui has been Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury since 2020. He serves on the boards of Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited, Hong Kong Airport Authority and also as the Chairman of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation.

He was an Administrative Officer in the Government from 1999 to 2003 and served in the Economic Development Branch, the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing and the Home Affairs Department. After leaving the Government, Mr Hui spent 13 years at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, having been the Managing Director for Market Development and Head of Project Management and also in various senior roles in Listing and Market Development. He worked for a number of multi-national companies in the private sector as well. He was appointed the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council from 2019 to 2020.

Mr Hui previously held a number of public roles including Councillor of the City University of Hong Kong, Member of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority Process Review Panel, Hong Kong Stock Exchange Listing Review Committee and also Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Disciplinary Panel.

Mr Hui holds Bachelor and Master (Hon) Degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and Master of Business Administration Degree from INSEAD. He also attended the Stanford Executive Programme (SEP).



As the Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) and Chairman of Zurich General Insurance Company (China), Mr Eric Hui spearheads all strategic development to drive Zurich’s Life Insurance and General Insurance businesses in Hong Kong and in the Greater China context towards profitable growth, and is responsible for Board functions across Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Chairing The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) in the office term 2020/2021, Eric is currently the Chairman of the General Insurance Council (GIC), a Governing Committee Member and the Chairman of GIC InsurTech Task Force and Task Force on Green Insurance.

Eric’s current public positions include being a member of the Resolution Compensation Tribunal and Anti‐Money Laundering and Counter‐Terrorist Financing Review Tribunal as appointed by the HKSAR Government, Chairman of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Hong Kong and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Employees’ Compensation Insurance Residual Scheme Bureau Board. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Employees Compensation Insurer Insolvency Bureau, a member of the Belt and Road & Greater Bay Area Committee under the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Human Capital Committee under Financial Services Development Council, and the Insurance Management Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association. In the realm of academia and public welfare, Eric is a member of the Honorary Advisory Board for the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong, Global Advisory Board of MBA in Finance (FMBA) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Board of Directors of The Jane Goodall Institute (Hong Kong).


Ms Chelsea Jiang is the Chief Technical and Innovation Officer of General Insurance for Greater China for AXA Group. Chelsea has held previous position in underwriting, distribution and claims working with most APAC countries, notably Australia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Philippines. Her focus is to drive technical excellence, business strategy and delivery using data, analytics and innovation. Chelsea holds degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Melbourne and Masters of Business Administration from University of Hong Kong.


Mr Lubomir Varbanov is Managing Director and Head of Public Sector Solutions for Asia Pacific at Swiss Re, where he leads the only group in the insurance industry fully dedicated to partnering with governments, multilateral organisations, sovereign wealth funds, development banks and other public sector entities. Based in Singapore, he joined Swiss Re in May 2022, and oversees a diverse team of seasoned professionals across the region, including in Australia, China, India, Japan and Singapore.

Prior to joining Swiss Re, Lubomir built over 25 years of industry and investment experience in emerging and developed markets, leading and advising on over US$8 billion of investments worldwide. Between 2002 and 2022, he held a variety of roles at the International Finance Corporation (IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group) in Washington D.C. and Singapore, most recently as Head of New Business, APAC and Global Head of Equity in the Infrastructure and Natural Resources team. Before IFC, Lubomir was Head of Corporate Finance at energy multinational BG Group (now part of Shell) in London.

Lubomir has served as Non-Executive Director on the boards of companies in Europe, Africa and Asia, most recently at Hero Future Energies, a leading Indian renewable energy platform.

Lubomir holds a BA in Business Studies and Languages from Regent’s College, London and an MSc in Finance from London Business School. He is married, with three teenage children, and speaks Bulgarian, French, German and Russian.


Mr John Zhu joined the Swiss Re Institute as Chief Economist Asia in December 2021. He is based in Hong Kong. Before joining Swiss Re, John was the Senior Global Economist at Haitong International Securities. He has worked on both the buy-side and sell-side in London and Hong Kong with HSBC, Legal & General and Pimco.

John was also previously a central banker with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, which included a secondment as a Visiting Economist at the Bank for International Settlements.

John read economics at the University of Cambridge and completed a Masters at the London School of Economics in 2007, after which he worked as a financial journalist during the Global Financial Crisis.


Mr Edward (Ed) Moncreiffe is Chief Executive Officer, Global Insurance. Based in Hong Kong, he oversees the HSBC Group’s insurance business, with life insurance companies in Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, Singapore, India*, France, UK, Malta, Bermuda, Mexico and Argentina, as well as insurance distribution units in 27 markets.

Ed has been with the HSBC Group for 18 years during which time he has held a number of leadership roles, including Head of Life and Pensions Brazil, Global Head of Retail insurance and Global Head of Insurance Strategic Partnership. Prior to his current role, Ed was Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Life Hong Kong and Macau for 7 years.

Outside of HSBC, Ed plays an active role in the local and business circles in Hong Kong. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Matilda International Hospital, a member of the General Committee of the Insurance Complaints Bureau (ICB) as well as a member of the Economic Policy Committee and Financial & Treasury Services Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is a former Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI), and a former Chairman of the City Mental Health Alliance Hong Kong.

He holds a BA (Hons) from University of Durham, UK and a MBA (Hons) from University of Chicago Booth School, USA. Ed is also a Chartered Insurer of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and sits on the Executive Council of the International Insurance Society (IIS).



Mr Adrian Goh is the regional CRO for the property and casualty function, with oversight over select countries in Asia. Prior to joining Munich Re, he served as the Chief Risk Officers in both life and composite direct insurers in Singapore. Before joining the insurance industry, he had served in both policy and supervisory functions in the Singapore regulator which included the implementation of its risk-based capital framework. Besides the financial risk functions, which includes risk and solvency frameworks with the associated stress testing, he is also active in the non-financial risk fields. He is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), the CFA Institute, a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and holds a CISSP from ISC2. His passion is on environmental risk and has given talks on the subject to various associations including GARP, International Association of Actuaries, among others.


Mr Kocu Andre Hutagalung has held several prominent leadership roles in the reinsurance sector. Since 2021, he has served as the President Director of PT Reasuransi MAIPARK Indonesia, a specialised risk reinsurance company focusing on catastrophe insurance. Prior to this, he was the President Director of PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) from 2019 to 2021 and served as a Director there from 2016 to 2019. Mr Hutagalung has also held various other director-level positions at other notable reinsurance companies in Indonesia, including PT Reasuransi Internasional Indonesia (ReINDO) and PT ASEI Reasuransi Indonesia (Persero) between 2013 and 2016.

Mr Hutagalung is a distinguished professional with a strong background in the reinsurance industry. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Physics/Materials Physics from the University of Indonesia, where he studied from 1989 to 1994. He further pursued postgraduate studies in Material Science at the same university, graduating in 1995. Additionally, Mr Hutagalung earned an Associate Chartered of Insurance Institute certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London, United Kingdom, between 2003 and 2004.


Mr Ryan Kim leads our digital, artificial intelligence (AI), data and innovation teams, with a strong focus on driving the adoption of AI at scale across the Group. Prior to joining FWD in 2019, Ryan was Managing Director and Regional Head of Digital for Greater China and North Asia for Standard Chartered Bank, where he was responsible for digital strategy, alliances and marketing, as well as business transformation.


Ms Lei Yu was appointed the Chief Executive Officer for North Asia and regional head of distribution at QBE Asia in December 2018. In this role, Lei is responsible for leading business operations in Hong Kong, Macau and China, and developing distribution and partnership strategies to accelerate the company’s growth in Asia. Lei is a dynamic leader with more than 20 years of diverse experience in the global insurance and risk management industry, and a strong track record of driving profitable growth.

Lei is a prominent leader serving as a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD) and the Hong Kong Academy of Finance (AoF). She has been featured as one of the Best Insurance Professionals and Brokers Worldwide (Global 100) and has also been recognised on the Elite Women lists in 2021 and 2024.

Lei currently serves on the Board of Pacific Basin Economic Council, supporting business sustainability across the Asia Pacific region; and was a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Belt and Road Committee from 2017 to 2019, which promotes Hong Kong’s position as the global Professional Service Hub.

Lei holds an MBA from the Fordham University Business School of Administration and was a Scholar of Quality Management at the Deming Institute.


Ms Eloise Yum is a Korea Non-life Licensed Broker and currently working at HIS Insurance Services as a general manager for all lines of casualty, financial lines and affinity business.

Ms Yum has been working in reinsurance field over the past 17 years, starting with 7 years as a team manager for casualty at Howden Korea where she first witnessed and experienced the role and importance of new insurance products for fostering stability and consumer protection and gained experience in affinity products at Sompo Korea while heading up the reinsurance team for 7 years and also at Aon as a senior manager for data analytics & affinity.

Ms Yum hold a bachelor's degree in international trade from Chonbuk National University and before she stepped into this industry, she worked as a retail merchandizer at a fashion trading company in London supplying fashion products to high street fashion brands in European countries, hence still have the passion in fashion and pursue the new styles in the same way as she explore developments of new products in this insurance field.


Mr Candric Cheng held 40 years profession in both insurance and reinsurance industry. Candric first joined the industry and worked with AIG since early 80’s. He got extensive knowledge in operation and lines of business from his various roles in AIG. include underwriting and reinsurance, Branch operation and manager of American Home Assurance in Macao.

He joined as reinsurance and insurance broking in Japanese based office for regional facultative reinsurance placement in mid 90’s Candric then moved to professional reinsurance and joined TransRe (fka Transatlantic Re) Hong Kong Branch in year 2000, and his last position was facultative manager for Property and Engineering for the APAC region.

He left TransRe in 2018 and worked with a Lloyds Cover holder in Hong Kong responsible for developing and underwrite Engineering, Power Plant operations risk, and sundry engineering business on behalf of Lloyds binders.

Before joining Fidelidade Macau in 2023, he was worked in Tugu Insurance Hong Kong where he responsible for SME underwriting and a role in Risk and Compliance for a contract basis.


Ms Alice Liang is the Chief Proposition Officer of AIA Hong Kong & Macau. She leads the Health & Wellness, Wealth Management and Product functions, and has overall leadership responsibility for the creation of innovative, differentiated product and service propositions across Hong Kong, Macau and the Greater Bay Area. She is a director of various AIA companies and joined AIA in August 2021.

Alice joined AIA from HSBC Life, where she was the Global Head of Products and member of the Group Insurance Executive Committee. An actuary by training, she has held various senior leadership positions focused on Proposition, Product Strategy, Wealth and Accident & Health in Asia (particularly China, Hong Kong and Singapore), and the United Kingdom.

Alice is a fellow of Institute & Faculty of Actuaries. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics with Statistics from University of London, United Kingdom and a Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science from City University, United Kingdom.


Ms Herminia S. Jacinto is the current Chairman of the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific IIAP, the institute that offers training courses on insurance, insurance management and related subjects, for both life and property and casualty lines. She has previously served the Institute as Trustee and President.

Ms Jacinto is a Certified Public Accountant and was Financial Controller of the FGU Insurance Corporation and the Universal Reinsurance Corporation, both companies of the Ayala Group. She became the President and CEO of the Universal Reinsurance Corporation until the company was merged with the Malayan Reinsurance Corporation in 2005. She retired from active corporate work in 2006 when the Universal Malayan Reinsurance Corporation merged with the National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines.

She has served the insurance industry in various capacities – Chairman of the Philippine Insurance and Reinsurance Association (PIRA), President of the Insurance & Surety Association of the Philippines (ISAP), President of the Philippine Insurers’ Club (PIC). She is a regular lecturer at he Institute on topics like Financial Analysis, Reinsurance and Mergers and Acquisitions.

She sits as Independent Director of various companies in the Philippines, namely, BDO Life Assurance Co, IPeople, Inc. Fortune General Insurance Corporation and Fortune Life Insurance Corporation.


Alger Fung is Chief Executive Officer for AIA Hong Kong & Macau since 2021. Alger is passionate about driving leading customer experience and has led AIA Hong Kong to achieve 10 market share No. 1 in the 2023 Provisional Statistics on Hong Kong Long Term Insurance Business1, whilst AIA Hong Kong & Macau delivered exceptional business performance with growth on multiple fronts, making it the largest contributor to AIA Group’s Value of New Business (VONB) in 20232.

Prior to this role, Alger was Chief Executive Officer of AIA Thailand. He led the AIA Thailand team to significantly expand its protection propositions and strengthen its unit-linked business, while continuing to raise the productivity of the agency force. The partnership with Bangkok Bank was also strengthened with sustained new business growth and increased productivity of the banca sales force.

Before leading the AIA Thailand business, Alger was the General Manager of Guangdong Branch, AIA China, where he transformed the agency business into a full-time, professional agency model that delivered significant VONB growth, contributing towards AIA China’s overall outstanding track record of success.

Alger brings with him a wealth of experience with over 25 years in the life insurance industry. Throughout his career, he has served in a wide range of leadership roles with an exceptional track record of success. He is a Governing Committee Member of The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers, and an Executive Committee Member of the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.




Mr Ellick Tsui is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Chief Financial Officer of Chow Tai Fook Life Insurance Company Limited (“CTF Life”).

Boasting over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr Tsui is an active participant in the Hong Kong insurance industry. He is the Deputy Chairman, a member of Governing Committee and Councillor of Life Insurance Council of The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI). He also serves as the Chairman of Task Force on RBC Enhancement and a member of Task Force on Greater China Affairs. Representing HKFI, Mr Tsui sits as a member of the Insurance Regulatory Advisory Panel of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).

Mr Tsui is a Member of Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) Working Group on Mobilising Insurance Capital to Foster Sustainable Economic and Social Development in Hong Kong. He is also a member of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) Financial and Treasury Services Committee. Further, Mr Tsui is a member of Life Committee of Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (ASHK) and Advisory Committee member for the Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis (IFAA) programme of the CUHK Business School.

Mr Tsui graduated from the University of Toronto, Canada and is currently fellow member of Canadian Institute of Actuaries, Society of Actuaries of the USA, and Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
